Capt. Stephen Black is a true Louisiana native, raised on Treasure Isle in Slidell, where life on the water was second nature. With a family legacy of World Champion bowfishermen, his passion for the outdoors runs deep. Capt. Stephen has spent a lifetime mastering the water from bowfishing in his backyard as a kid to navigating the bayous and marshes as a seasoned Captain. In addition to running Cajun Experience Bowfishing Charters, he brings extensive maritime experience working on tugboats, tour boats, and various vessels throughout Louisiana. Whether you're brand new to the sport or a seasoned pro, Capt. Stephen is dedicated to making every trip exciting, memorable, and full of that signature Cajun hospitality—welcoming you not just to a charter, but to an authentic Louisiana adventure.
My Story
When I was 14 years old, I wrote a letter to myself answering the question: “What do I want my life to look like in 10 years?” My answer was simple—I wanted to own a boat and start my own bowfishing charter business. I was just a kid with a big dream, but I knew exactly what I was aiming for. Ten years later, at the age of 24, that dream became a reality. I bought my first boat and launched Cajun Experience Bowfishing Charters.

I’ve spent countless nights under the stars, chasing fish through shallow waters, and now I get to share that thrill with others.
